Sarlat la Canéda - Périgord
Located in the black Périgord (Périgord noir), Sarlat is a medieval city which developed around a large abbey of Carolingian origin. It reached its apogee in the XIIIth century, it existed in the IXth yet, it is the only abbey of Périgord which was saved from the Vikings.
